Introducing the BODY Tension Project

05.13.07

Freestyle Movement started as a concept years ago, when I was trying to figure out the meaning of sAne, and the journey I was enbarking on. I found that my ideas not only translated well into my own art, but that I in essence, had stumbled upon something that could encompass much more than a personal path. Influenced by traditional Hip Hop roots, and contemporary takes like Jeff Chang’s “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop” I realized that we as members of this “post- Era” with countless subgenres of already underground arts, need to document our own creative process collectively, from within the communities, in order to ensure accurate transmission of our intentions. This is what the term “body tension ” will eventually translate into a collaborative documentary that will take manifest into multisensory information, including a series of collector books and audio compilations, filled with the freshest testimonials from today’s underground channels.

New Painting Collaboration With Scot LeFavor

05.10.07

Scot aka FAIVES had an art opening at the JoyEngine Gallery titled “For a Limited Time Only” the show featured something like 50 new pieces done by LeFavor, including a collab with yours truly, that sold on opening night. Unfortunately I missed the opening since I already hit the road, but you can find a full recap on the Joy Engine Blog.

Daniel Lucio: The New Bossa

05.01.07
I recently just put together another Music Identity package for a friend. The idea here was to tend towards a simpler, sleek profile with a faint edge. I drafted up two separate logos for both his solo performing act and his more experimental moniker, Kid Akimbo. The work was put out in T-shirts, business cards, and a new website that I worked on with Todd from Cypher 13.
